Biography:
Doug White was raised in northeast Georgia. He received his B.S. in Physics from North Georgia College & State University before pursuing graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2010, he received his PhD in Physics under Dr. Perry Gerakines studying laboratory ice analog mixtures containing thermally processed carbon dioxide in the interstellar medium. He is continuing his study of carbon dioxide-containing laboratory mixtures of planetary ices at Ames with the ORAU sponsored NASA Postdoctoral Program under the guidance of Drs. Scott Sandford and Rachel Mastrapa.
In his leisure time, Doug enjoys Budo Taijutsu, playing bluegrass music, running, hiking, and traveling.
